What do we offer?
For many people, the scattering of the ashes of a loved one in a park, woods or on water is a very comforting part of the grief process and healing.
As Funeral Directors in Exmouth and Budleigh, being by the sea is part of our life and having ashes scattered in the water here is often part of people’s wishes.
We provide the option to do this locally in the river or at sea by providing private boat tours to include the scattering of ashes into the water to celebrate the life of a loved one.
There is no minimum number of guests and our staff will coordinate the whole trip for you on the water. Trips can be 2-4 hours total including a chance to have a short service and scatter ashes into the water.
Additional Options
Included in every trip is a fully licensed bar, toilets, and a heated indoor area. Should you wish to add catering options there are various options available including buffet, BBQ, tea and coffee, or a champagne reception.
Service at sea
You may wish for our funeral director or a local celebrant or officiant (minister) to say some words or perform a short service of dedication. This is available just the same as at a crematorium service.
Scattering Options
When we receive the ashes back from the crematorium you are able to divide these as you wish. By default, they will be in a standard container. We are able to transfer some to a scatter tube for spreading at sea. Additionally, a number of vessels and dispersible urns are available that you can float onto the water. Costs
Packages start from £675 and can be booked up to a year in advance. Most trips happen during the Summer months when the weather is better and we can also try to schedule trips with the local sunset.
